We Live Responsibility
Responsibility Driven by Conviction
As a family-run company from Harsewinkel, we produce high-quality meat convenience products—with a clear commitment: ecologically responsible, modern, and resource-efficient. For over 30 years, we have been investing purposefully in technology, energy efficiency, and regional value creation to protect the climate, environment, and our local community. We focus on two central areas: responsibility for the planet and responsibility for the region.
Approx. 8,000 tons
of greenhouse gas emissions saved per year
Approx. 20% less packaging
through smart design
Approx. 1.2 hectares of biotopes
including woodland edges, orchard meadows, and ponds
Responsibility for the Planet
Energy-Efficient Technology – Modern Production with Lower Consumption
When expanding or renovating our production facilities, we consistently implement technologies that save energy and reduce emissions:
- New buildings built to KfW-55 standard (only 55% of legally required energy & CO₂ consumption)
- Highly efficient refrigeration systems, pumps, and ventilation
- Conversion to modern cooling technology – saving around 8,000 tons of CO₂ annually
- Photovoltaic system to absorb electricity peaks in summer for refrigeration
Our processes use extreme temperatures—hot and cold—allowing energy to be reused multiple times:
- Waste heat from refrigeration for hot water generation
- Ventilation systems with heat recovery
- Efficient combined heat and power systems for electricity and heat
- Highly insulated heating pipes to minimize energy losses
Result: One of the most energy-efficient facilities in its class—for sustainable convenience production.
Sustainable Packaging – Less Waste, More Efficiency
We continuously reduce packaging material and resource consumption:
- 20% less cardboard
- Only fully recyclable monomaterials
- Higher pallet weights → fewer transport trips
Better for the environment, logistics, and customers.
Responsibility for the Region
Regional Sourcing – Short Distances, Transparent Origins
Our raw materials come mainly from the surrounding area:
- 70 % of ingredients from North Rhine-Westphalia
- 95 % of meat and 85 % of raw materials from within a 150 km radius
- Only fresh meat, no frozen products
- Long-term partnerships rather than changing suppliers
This strengthens regional structures and reduces transport emissions.
Nature-Friendly Areas – Habitat for Animals & Plants
Our company grounds have developed into a small biotope over the years:
- 38 fruit trees of old, regional varieties
- 3 insect hotels – supporting wild bees
- 25 nesting boxes – from falcons to swallows
- 1 pond – a habitat for amphibians and insects
These measures provide a biotope for animals and plants in the region.
Sustainability That Brings Joy
- Our new cold and freezer storage buildings have green roofs, which cool through evaporation in summer and increase PV system efficiency, while creating insect habitats.
- Our pond is for both newts and employees to enjoy.
- Our falcons nest every year and help control the rodent population.
- Employees don’t just get a fruit basket—they have access to an orchard with heritage varieties.
